CDKN-KA fosters partnerships for enhanced climate resilience in South Asia

ICLEI South Asia is partnering with prominent institutions and experts in South Asia under the Climate Development Knowledge Network-Knowledge Accelerator project, to enhance individual and collective actions that address climate change impacts and build effective adaptive and resilient strategies.

It is engaging with the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) in Nepal and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) to conduct trainings on climate resilience planning, with a focus on mountainous regions and the monitoring of adaptation indicators, respectively. The training modules, being developed in close coordination with the organisations, will be tailored to address the local challenges and identify locally appropriate solutions. Such a cooperation will help in developing knowledge products and dissemination that are country-specific, nationally appropriate and nationally determined, and are consistent and coherent with each country’s development objectives, thereby increasing its credibility and usability.

A policy brief has also been developed on peri-urban ecosystems in India. The first draft has been shared with several experts for their review and suggestions. The idea is to build a more diverse landscape for partnerships and cooperation that will bring together experts and practitioners to complement the existing knowledge and experiences.
