What do ICLEI and local governments expect from the summit?

The Climate Summit 2014 is expected to support the:

a.       Scaling-Up of Local Climate Action; by enhancing visibility, quality, effectiveness, ambition and credibility of the actions already taken by pioneering local and subnational governments and facilitating mobilization of new local and subnational governments in these efforts

b.       Mainstreaming Local Climate Action; by effective engagement  of local and subnational governments as governmental stakeholders through innovative vertical integration mechanisms in the national, regional and global efforts, supported with additional technical and financial resources
